HIGHER PEACE
"The scent ‘Higher Peace’ is influenced by the Merry Pranksters and the retired schoolbus Furthur which enlightened America during the 1960s. It’s about never stop learning. Letting your guard down, trying to understand each other and with that traveling through unknown waters. It is also a statement of peace, inspired by the values of Bagism, a term created by Lennon and Ono in 1969. The intent of Bagism is avoiding prejudice and stereotyping by not judging others on the basis of skin color, gender, sexuality, age or other."
The scent is hempy, bladed and Play-Doh-y.
FEMALE CHRIST
"In 19-69, a naked woman carrying a cross walked through the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. The performance act went under the name ‘Female Christ’. The social revolution and constant transgression of boundaries in the late 1960s meant that artists’ expressions took new directions. Some artists opposed of dominant values and behavior of society by using performance art: art that exists while in progress. However, this also means that significant voices and parts of art history from this time period risk to fade as they only exist as photographic or filmed records. The fragrance ‘Female Christ’ ensures that the memory of the art performance created and carried out by the artists Lene Adler Petersen and Bjørn Nørgaard at the Copenhagen Stock Exchange will live on forever."
The scent is earthy and woody with integrity.
VILLA NELLCÔTE
"Villa Nellcôte is a 16-room mansion of the Belle Epoque, previously occupied and used as headquarters by the local Gestapo during the Nazi occupation of France. In the spring of 1971, new rebellious tenants and their colorful entourage hosted the property for six months. The barefoot hippies, the beautiful settings and the dark past were a perfect match resulting in a rock album that to this day inspires people across borders and nations. The fragrance is the embodiment of the magnificent garden and beautiful surroundings of the estate.”
An aromatic, floral and refreshing scent.
CHINESE TOBACCO
“The ‘peace and love sign’ was designed in the 1950s by Gerald Holtom and was along with the peace hand sign adopted by anti-war activists during the 1970s. The name 19-69 stands for just this: freedom, tolerance and counterculture. The scent Chinese Tobacco by 19-69 is also a reminiscence of a visit I made to a restaurant in Kuala Terengganu. It was late at night, the air was filled with wonderful aromas from the kitchen area, while a group of men was smoking and playing cards."
The scent is Spicy and Woody.
MIAMI BLUE
"Miami - a metropolis with deep roots in art and cultural diversity, surrounded by sunshine, white sand and the ocean. Referred to as ‘Paradise Lost’ in the 1980s. During this period Hotel Mutiny stood out as a lush oasis within the apocalypse and hosted a free trading zone and a never-ending party with gorgeous models, kingpins, and legendary artists. The TV-show Miami Vice has been a major influence on fashion and includes Armani jackets in pastels, rolled up sleeves. Miami Blue by 19-69 is dedicated to a place and era when champagne baths were on the charts.”
The scent is fresh and aquatic.
CHRONIC
"In 1996, California became the first state in the US to legalize medicinal cannabis. But scratch the surface and there has always been a long history of cannabis cultivators and enthusiasts dedicating their lives to refining the herb, including the strain Chronic. However, the name of the fragrance also alludes to the debut album of Dr. Dre. ‘The Chronic’ was released in 1992, the same year as the LA riots."
The scent is leafy, vibrant and green.
JUNE 28
“You knew of it as an unholy place that society ranted and warned you about. Located in West Village, NYC, was the Stonewall Inn, a shady bar frequently visited by drag queens and outsiders. In the early hours of June 28, 1969, this area became the birthplace of the Stonewall Uprising, one of the most significant social turning points in modern history. Some even - truthfully - state: 'The first pride was a riot`.”
Keywords for the fragrance are enigmatic, sultry and gourmet.
